There are a variety of reasons why students are required to memorize Scripture. Those reasons will be discussed in class. Here is our method:
The first week of school, students will be expected to memorize two ore three passages.
The following week, we will add two more passages, requiring the students to have at least four or five passages memorized.
The following week we will add another verse or maybe two.
As the weeks progress we will continue to add Scripture to our list of verses to be memorized.
As the weeks move on, once the entire senior class has shown that they have clearly memorized one of the previous passages, we will remove that one from the quizzes, and add a new one. This process will continue until the end of the year.
If you want a head start on learning your memory, your first week’s memory will be:
1) Hebrews 12 1-2ish: “And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God
2) I am a unique child of God, full of potential, washed in the blood of Christ.
3) Lutheran High North is devoted to academic excellence and,
above all, to sharing and modeling the Gospel of Jesus Christ in all aspects of its ministry.
